Big Bend National Park

Off of anyone’s beaten trail, Big Bend National Park covers over 800,000 acres in far West Texas. With a southern border defined by the Rio Grande River and a topology that includes desert as well as mountains, Big Bend is often described as isolated and remote. In 2012 the park was designated an international dark sky park. Several days of hiking its rocky, rough terrain put me in touch with a charm that evokes a sense of wonder as well as  new perspective.
